REVIEWS

quote Calling all ex-Fiji expatriates still craving a bit of Fijian flavours every now and again. This would be the place to visit. Whether you’re seeking to get your Fijian curry and roti fix, some fabulous freshly fried fish steeped in coconut milk with Fijian greens like taro leaves or the choicest “palusami” served with lemon and chillies served with taro or bananas in coconut milk, My Kai doesn’t disappoint. The ambience is comforting and inviting. There’s more on the menu but you have to see the range for yourself. I haven’t stopped going since our first visit! Service is great, prices account for all types of budget, they do serve liquor (not sure about BYO) and most importantly the owners know their hospitality - after all, they are former Fiji residents who can take you back to the islands even for an hour. Try it, you’ll love it.-

quote On the way back from the Sunshine Coast, we met up with friends at MyKai and introduced them to Fijian food. I had the kokoda (ceviche or raw fish), taro, palusami (taro leaves with coconut cream) and soy chicken. My friends had a bit of almost everything and enjoyed the experience. Hoping to return to try the curry, which was so popular, it sold out before we went to order.

quote Lady serving was lovely and busy! Lots of customers coming in and picking up so this obviously a popular place. I got Spicy Fries (hot chips with curry sauce) and my friend got hot chips with Gravy and 2 scallops. The chips were ok - quiet expensive, I thought. The curry sauce lacked spice too so was a bit disappointed. Again, the lady serving/cooking was lovely and everyone else seemed to love the food xx

quote Wholesome home cooking at its best. Incredibly delicious island food. The sweetlip fish was fried to perfection and the Spanish mackerel kokoda was to die for. Palusami was superb and the fried cassava was a favourite. Thanks Lorna
